A follow up comparing iOS, Android and WP7 sales
This morning I was prompted to followup on my original article that talked about sales on the three major smartphone platforms.
http://lesmond.net/2011/04/3-months-in-comparison-between-ios-android-and-windows-phone-sales/
This was quite new and I thought it would be good to give a month view for December 2011 as this traditionally is a good month for sales as a lot of developers report this.
This was also made a lot easier now that AppFigures has Android integration too!
Since the last report the Android and Windows Phone versions have pretty much stayed the same with just minor bug fixes. The iOS version has a new alerts system using Apple’s APNS and as of this morning we have sent 13.5 million push notifications since the beginning of October.
We also have a new free website for Plane Finder at http://planefinder.net that promotes the apps and this is drawing a lot of traffic too!
The graph is linear and as you can see Android sales are around 10% of iOS sales. And Windows Phone 7 sales are around 1% of iOS sales! This echoes posts read just a month ago and hasn’t changed since my original post back in last April! We have also excluded Plane Finder AR from the stats on iOS as we don’t have that product available on Android or Windows Phone 7.
This is based on sales figures that we get from Apple, Google and Microsoft.

Just wanted to let you know that Distimo Monitor (http://monitor.distimo.com) supports Apple App Store, Google Android Market and Windows Phone Marketplace 7 and more.
